While some fought to support their families, desperately struggling to make living, the others were the powerful, successful and beautiful women who influenced politics and history.

In a time when women weren't allowed to read, write or have a proper conversation with their husbands, there was only one option for those unwilling to accept this, to become a Courtesan. These were the highly educated, talented and financially independent women who were even allowed to look men in the eye!

The lovers of Popes, Cardinals and Princes from the Borgia, Farnese and Orsini families will come to life on this extraordinary tour. See the beautiful houses where they once lived, the churches where the courtesans are buried and prepare to be amazed by the stories that make up their incredible lives.

You'll also discover their stories through some of the world's most famous works of art. Italian artists such as Caravaggio, Raphael and Pinturicchio captured their beauty and the struggles of daily life that you'll hear all about.
