You can visit this attraction with the Paris Museum Pass – included on a 4 or 6-day All-Inclusive Pass.
Duke Louis of Orléans built Château de Pierrefonds in 1397 as a fortress to solidify power over trade routes between Flanders and Burgundy

The castle was dismantled by King Louis XIII in 1617 to prevent it from serving as a refuge for his enemies. In 1857, Emperor Napoleon III ordered its reconstruction with the intent of making it an imperial residence. That project was not fully completed and Château de Pierrefonds opened to the public in 1867.
The restoration was entrusted to Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, one of the greatest architects and designers of the day. Viollet-le -Duc was passionate about Medieval architecture, and many consider Château de Pierrefonds to be his greatest work. You will be immersed in his celebration of the Gothic era construction and ornamentation.
You’ll see the permanent exhibition from the Monduit workshops, famous for the use of the repousse technique on sheet metals. These craftsmen restored many historical monuments and helped create the Statue of Liberty. The roofs of Pierrefonds are an excellent example of this art form.

You can visit this attraction with the Paris Museum Pass – included on a 4 or 6-day All-Inclusive Pass.

Although now the home of some 500,000 objects, The Army Museum at Les Invalides was originally built by Louis XIV as a hospital and home for disabled soldiers.
The Musée de L'Armée was established in 1905 by merging the collections of the Artillery Museum and the Historical Army Museum. It now houses a huge collection of weapons, armour, artillery, uniforms, emblems and paintings.
The other big draw of The Army Museum is that it is the location of the Tomb of Napoléon. Although he was originally buried on the island of St Helena, King Louis-Philippe ordered the emperor’s body be returned to France. Designed by the architect Visconti, the tomb has a green granite base and is circled by a crown of laurels and inscriptions of the great victories of the Empire. The body of the Emperor was laid in the tomb on April 2nd 1861.
